A rush of gold was seen at the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 runways. Eccentric furs and plumes are the winter standards this season. The complete woolen look is the prominent trend for the winter. This trend is worn best with neutral tones. You can add a pop of color through accessories.
Be it fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, London, or India (Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015), colors that rule the ramp are hot pink, and exquisite shades of orange and aqua. Orange will be the new black in the forthcoming season. Tinted pastels will dominate the palette. As the style of Wendell Rodricks and Samantha goes, white is hot the next season with embroidered silhouettes.
In case of fabrics, silk and sheer will rule. Mirror work, resham embroidery, and sequins are “in” for the upcoming season. Rohit Bal’s floral embroidery and Joy Mitra’s zardozi will scorch the streets.
Digital printing is gaining momentum in the Indian fashion world. Tribal prints, geometric prints, and illusionary prints are trendy. The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 was high on colors and prints.
Collections of Hemant & Nandita, Anupamaa Dayal, Payal Singhal, and Urvashi Kaur scorched the ramp in the fashion week. Payal Singhal’s amazing collection of cropped tops with saris and churidars was a mega hit.
Don’t stack away your florals for prints. Both are “in.” Floral appliqué work and delicate motifs will rule fashion in the next season.
As for jewelry, Spring/Summer 2015 trend is about minimalism. Last year, it was the nose ring that took the breath away. This year, choose eccentric headgears and waist belts. Aneeth Arora and Masaba collections were high in dramatic accessorizing.
The upcoming trends are all about inspiration, vibrancy, softness, and minimalism. It is more about highlighting your persona. Summers are going to be sheer and silky fun, literally!
