Do you love your job? If yes, then there is no such thing as Monday morning blues in your life. If not, then it must be a challenge for you to drag yourselves to office every day.
Either love what you do, or do what you love
Somebody has rightly said, “If you love your work, then there is no work for you; life is all play.”
It is easier said than done though. If a person is not interested in his or her job, their workplace becomes a dreaded place to be. Perhaps that’s why experts suggest doing what you love. In other words, turn your hobby into your profession. You will never have to ‘work.’
Alas, society’s norms expect an individual to study, have a decent job, marry, have kids, and so on. Where’s the place to take risks and follow your dreams? To add fuel to fire are your parents’ expectations.
It is a common scenario to see dreams being crushed, especially when a parent wants her child to become a doctor, an engineer, professor, bank employee, or join the government service, when on the other hand, the child wants to become a sportsperson, painter, writer, musician, fashion designer, or photographer.
All hell breaks loose if the child expresses his or her desire to pursue unconventional professions like choreography, film production, radio jockey, scriptwriter, makeup artist, and more.
The power of dreams – embracing the unknown path
Do you know what your true calling is?
Here’s a hint:
Something that gives you peace of mind, that thrills you to the core, that can make you get up at 3 in the morning to work on it, that can make you forget food and sleep… something that you love from the heart.
Did it click?
If yes, then what are you doing in your boring accounts office from 9 to 5 when you love colors and your true calling is fashion designing?
Be grateful to be born in this modern era wherein there is a flood of opportunities to pursue different and interesting professions. There are courses that can help you fulfill your dreams.
What’s stopping you?
Perhaps your fear of failure or laziness to leave your comfort zone. It is easier to go with the flow than to go against the tide; but then, this can bury your dreams deep.
It takes guts (in huge amount), fire (in flames), and determination (like a rock) to pursue your true calling. Once you do it, you can never thank yourselves enough.
